About Me
I’m Biju Viswakarma, an accomplished artist and educator with a diverse skill set. Currently serving as an assistant professor at Amity University and Amity School of Film & Drama in Noida, New Delhi, I impart knowledge in various creative disciplines such as Pre-Production, Storyboarding, Graphic Designing, Animation, Comic Book Creation, and more. With a Bachelor’s degree in Performing Arts (Hindustani Music Hons.) and numerous diplomas in Animation, Graphic Designing, Filmmaking and Sculpting, I bring over 23 years of rich experience in both art and education. My journey includes collaborations with esteemed institutions like Manipal University, Chandigarh University and leading many animation studios.
I take pride in my contributions to the field of animation, having directed several animated short films and live-action projects. One of my animated films even earned recognition at an International Animation Festival. My commitment to advancing animation education is evident through my membership in “The Animation Society of India – TASI” and my tailored workshops designed to meet the specific needs of budding animators.
Beyond animation, I’m deeply passionate about Hindustani and Carnatic music, striving to preserve and propagate India’s cultural heritage through teaching and performance. My teaching philosophy revolves around fostering a supportive and stimulating learning environment that encourages students to unleash their creativity while honoring traditional artistic expressions and embracing innovation. Immersed in the world of music and arts education, taking inspiration from the ancient Guru Shishya tradition. For me, teaching goes beyond imparting knowledge, it’s a profound connection between a mentor and a student. Guided by this philosophy, I cherish the importance of face-to-face interaction with my students, and not just to upgrade technical skill but also to bring out their own talent and creativity.
In my teaching practice, I prioritize creating a supportive and inclusive environment where each student feels valued and empowered to explore their unique artistic journey at their own pace. I take a personalized approach, tailoring my instructions to meet the individual needs and learning styles of each student. By establishing a strong foundation of trust and respect, I aim to cultivate a meaningful mentor-student relationship that goes beyond the boundaries of the classroom.
Furthermore, I am committed to instilling in my students a deep appreciation for the cultural and historical significance of music and arts. I seek to inspire a lifelong passion for creative expression. My ultimate goal is to empower my students to not just master their skill but also to become confident and compassionate individuals who contribute positively to their communities through their art.
